Help your local brass band, without spending a penny!

You may not have heard, but Tewkesbury Town Band and Tewkesbury Town Council have come to an agreement, where the disused toilet block in Saffron Rd, will be signed over to the band on a long term lease. In return for an initial upfront payment, the band will take possession of the building, along with all maintenance and running costs.

However, to turn the toilet block into our permanent home and rehearsal room, the band has to raise around £10,000 to cover the cost of the internal works to the building.

We have applied, with the help of A Plan in Gloucester and been accepted, for consideration for the Aviva Community Fund.  A shortlist for the fund is made up from the 50 organisations that can gain the highest support in the form of an online vote. From those 50, a panel of Aviva representatives decide on which 28 organisations will each receive the £10,000 award.

Below is the link that will take you to the site where you can cast a vote for our band. We ask that you support our good cause with your vote. If you are willing to send this to as many friends, family, or colleagues that you feel may also want to support us also it would be so appreciated. After registering each person will get 10 votes which we hope they would cast all for the band project.

We are aiming to get several thousand votes, to ensure that we get through to the short list. With the work that the band carries out in the community, along with the offer of free instruments and lessons for newcomers to banding, we hope you'll feel that our project is a cause worth supporting.

Thank you for your support.

And donít forget, nobody has to spend a penny!
